Allergies can also be prevented by taking "Probiotics"

Allergies, a chronic disease that many people have to deal with, can involve various systems of the body, resulting in different symptoms such as a runny nose, sneezing, itchy or watery eyes, and skin rashes. These symptoms may persist for more than one month and can significantly impact daily life.

The causes of allergies
Allergies mostly result from genetic factors and external environmental factors such as foods, medicines, weather conditions: inhalants, pollution, and smoking.

Probiotic and Allergy Prevention
Treatment of allergies can be approached through various methods, and consuming ‘probiotics’ is one way to help balance the gut microbiota and boost the immune system in the body. This can aid in reducing inflammation and alleviating allergy-related issues.

In the past, numerous research studies have explored the use of probiotics, including both Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium species, for preventing allergies. One of these studies focused on the Bifidobacterium Longum strain BB536 and found that it helps strengthen the immune system and reduce allergy symptoms. The study involved 40 Japanese individuals with allergic rhinitis who consumed BB536 at a dose of 20 million CFU/day continuously for 10 weeks. This group was compared to another group that received a placebo. The results showed that the BB536 group experienced a significant reduction in ocular allergy symptoms, such as eye itching, redness, and tearing (p=0.044). Additionally, other symptoms like nasal itching, nasal congestion, runny nose, and sore throat also decreased significantly. Normally, allergic reactions cause an increase in eosinophil, a type of white blood cell, but BB536 helped balance the immune system and led to a reduction in eosinophil levels (p < 0.05).

In addition to consuming probiotics to strengthen the immune system and prevent allergies, it is equally important to avoid external environmental triggers that can induce allergic reactions. This includes maintaining a diverse and balanced diet that includes all five food groups and engaging in regular physical exercise for overall health and a robust immune system.
